Roof structure replacement
A new timber roof over an occupied house — without moving out
About the project
The owners stayed in the house throughout. We replaced the roof in sections, one at a time, with temporary waterproofing every evening.
The challenge
Three of the main trusses had rotten bearing joints. The house was occupied and could not be left without a roof even for a single night.
The solution
We divided the roof into four sections. Each section was taken down in the morning and closed with battens and membrane by the evening. The full new covering went on the following day.
The result
Zero nights without a roof, zero rain damage, and the family never had to move out.
